      <title>Candidate education session for the 2026 Municipal Election</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;The City of Brantford will host a candidate education session for individuals considering running in the 2026 Municipal Election.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This session provides an overview of the role and responsibilities of Council, along with practical insight from former councillors.       <description>&lt;p&gt;Voter Information Letters will be mailed to every eligible voter over the next few weeks. Every elector within each household in Brantford will receive their own individual Voter Information Letter.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Those that are not currently registered as Brantford Voters can visit City Hall to add themselves to the Voters' List.       <title>Sudden passing of Ward 5 candidate Eric Mundy </title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;BRANTFORD, ON&lt;/strong&gt;: Sadly, the City of Brantford has learned that Municipal Councillor for Ward 5 candidate Eric Mundy passed away suddenly. We send our condolences to Mr. Mundy&amp;rsquo;s family and friends.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;With the Municipal Election to take place on Monday, October 24, 2022, the voting ballots including Mr. Mundy&amp;rsquo;s name have already been printed and cannot be revised at this late stage in the election process.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;As Mr. Mundy&amp;rsquo;s passing does not create an acclamation for Ward 5 Councillor positions, the election will continue and the results will be produced on October 24&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt;&amp;nbsp;for the remaining candidates.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Public notices of Mr. Mundy&amp;rsquo;s passing will be posted at all in-person voting sites and on the Municipal Election 2022 online voting page at&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="Brantford.ca/OnlineVoting"&gt;Brantford.ca/OnlineVoting&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For more information about the 2022 Municipal Election, please visit&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://brantfordvotes.brantford.ca/en/index.aspx"&gt;Brantford.ca/Election.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
